The best Halloween events and half term activities in the South West

“How is it October half term already” you say to your partner.

The years and months go by so fast before you know it the kids will have left home. Still, after 18 months of lockdown you can’t wait to take your kids out for some halloween activities in the South West of England.

They’ve been cooped up for so much of the past year you just want to see them out and about and having a good time. Your yearly caravan trip to the South West is coming up too, so your family can enjoy all the spooky goings on in Devon and Cornwall this half term. You better pack some pirate fancy dress costumes.

You’re never short of adventure when you head to the South West of England, the area is known for its surfing, beautiful beaches and National Parks. It’s an adventurer’s paradise and kids always love it. As the days get shorter and the weather cooler the beach trips make way for bonfires and fancy dress parties and luckily Devon and Cornwall have plenty of things like this for you and your children to enjoy.

Halloween activities in the South West for you and the kids this half term

Camel Creek Halloween – 23rd to the 31st of October – Cornwall

Camel Creek is an adventure amusement park for kids of all ages and they’re getting all spooky for the half term break. The park is open but booking is advised due to ongoing Covid restrictions.

Entry prices are based on a height system with anyone under 92cm getting in for free! Perfect for the little ones then.

Explore Thunder Canyon and Creature Creek with your little ones all day and learn as well as laugh. You can get your tickets here.

Flambards Spooky Pumpkin Trail – 24th October to the 1st of November – Cornwall

Flambard is a family amusement park in Cornwall with a historical twist. As well as all the rides, shops and candy floss stands you’d expect from a UK amusement park it also has a recreation of a Victorian street on site so families can take a trip into the past.

This recreated Victorian street is where the annual Spooky Pumpkin Trail is taking place and is guaranteed to provide chills and excitement for kids both big and small.

You don’t need to book, especially for the Pumpkin trail it is part of the entry price to the park. You can book tickets here.

Paignton Zoo Spooky Halloween Fun – 23rd – 31st October – Devon

Paignton zoo is hosting several wizard workshops for kids in fancy dress over the half term break. They can learn about owls and see them in action with one of the zoo’s dedicated handlers. There’s a range of other animal talks happening too from zebras to wolves and a lot of activities happening in the day like potion making and insect fact or fiction.
