Suffolk offers everything for the perfect getaway. This is a stunning county, which possesses two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and over 60 nature reserves. Suffolk is an ideal place for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, bird-watching, photography, or simply lazing on the beach! It’s the perfect place to escape at a moments notice.
Endless things to do close by
You won’t be short of places to go and things to see in and around the area. Whether you’re an avid hiker or prefer to relax on the beach, there’s truly something for everyone.
Stunning coastline & unspoilt local beaches
Suffolk is on Britain’s east coast, meaning it’s the first place in the country to see the sunrise. Its 50 miles of stunning coastline is home to many towns and tiny villages, each with their own story to tell. You can encounter world-class culture, exquisite food, heritage, wildlife, and so much more all along the Suffolk coast.
Lowerstoft, the largest town along the coast, boasts a wide sandy beach and access to the beautiful Suffolk Broads. For foodie delights, explore the tiny fishing village of Orford which possesses an unexpected level of high-standard cuisine and a depth of folklore surrounding its unique castle.
Southwold beach is one of Suffolk’s best-known resorts. Boasting an 800ft long pier, along with the beach shingle and colourful beach huts, there is no mistaking you are at the Great British seaside! Just over an hours drive from Aspen Country park, it’s a great day out for the whole family.
Opened in 1900, the pier is steeped in history, having to have been rebuilt due to storm damage. The beach itself is backed by a promenade which runs along the front of the town just a short walk away.
