Strangford Lough

Nestled amidst the rolling green hills of County Down, Strangford Lough is a hidden gem of Northern Ireland’s coastline. It’s also just a 13-minute drive from Cloughey Country Park! This expansive sea inlet, the largest in the British Isles, is also a marine nature reserve. Home to porpoises, seals, otters and many more, it’s a wildlife haven. It’s also the perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts, so you can paddle-board, kayak and canoe to your heart’s content!

Ballywalter Beach

Just a 5-minute drive from our lodges at Ballyhalbert, this sand and pebble beach is a perfect place to unwind and bask in the sea breeze. With a quaint seaside town to boot, it’s an oasis of calm and Northern Irish charm. The neighbouring harbour is a great place to slow down and watch life go by. Bring along your furry friend too – this beach is dog-friendly!

Orlock Point

If you’re looking for a family-friendly hike with breathtaking vistas, this is your spot. Just a stone’s throw from Windsor Park, it’s the perfect place to take in the beauty of the Northern Irish coast and even have views over to Scotland on a clear day. This windswept headland doesn’t just boast great views, it’s steeped in history, with evidence of Vikings, smugglers and World War II defences.
