Holidays in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire
On your visit to Whitebeam Country Park there is no shortage of things to do.

Perrygrove Railway Adventure
All Aboard!
Passengers can ride on the train to use activities including a Treetop Adventure, a covered picnic and play area at Foxy Hollow, an Indoor Village with secret passages, and a den-building area in the woods.
Perrygrove Railway is a heritage railway of 15 in gauge. It is located at Perrygrove Farm in the Royal Forest of Dean near Coleford.
Trains travel at frequent intervals on a round trip of 1 ¹⁄₂ miles between four stations. The railway was inspired by the minimum gauge estate railways or British narrow gauge railways developed by Sir Arthur Heywood at the end of the 19th century, including his pioneering Duffield Bank Railway and the later Eaton Hall Railway.

Puzzlewood
Puzzlewood is an ancient woodland site and tourist attraction, near Coleford in the Forest of Dean.
The site, covering 14 acres, shows evidence of open-cast iron ore mining dating from the Roman period, and possibly earlier. Over a mile of pathways were laid down in the early 19th century to provide access to the woods, and provide picturesque walks.
The area contains strange rock formations, secret caves and ancient trees, with a confusing maze of paths.

Darkhill Ironworks
Darkhill Ironworks, and the neighbouring Titanic Steelworks, are internationally important industrial remains associated with the development of the iron and steel industries.
Both are scheduled monuments. They are located on the edge of a small hamlet called Gorsty Knoll, just to the west of Parkend, in the Forest of Dean.

King Arthur's Cave
King Arthur’s Cave is a limestone cave at the foot of a low cliff at the north-western end of Lord’s Wood in The Doward, near Symonds Yat, Herefordshire, about four miles northeast of Monmouth, in the Wye Valley.
The cave entrance lies about 285 feet above the River Wye on a hill, with a double interconnected entrance and two main chambers. It is protected as a nature reserve under the Herefordshire Nature Trust.
There is evidence that the cave was occupied by man during the Upper Palaeolithic era, and flint tools and woolly mammoth bones have been unearthed within and around the caves.
