Things to do in Devon
Whether you’re interested in scenic walks, culture, adventure or just some relaxation - Devon has it all!

Walks, Wildlife and Scenery
Two highlights are Hartland Abbey & Gardens and Dartmoor National Park. Situated in a beautiful valley just one mile from Hartland Quay, Hartland Abbey can be found on the North West Devon coast, and makes for a wonderful day out.. The award-winning house, with its fascinating interiors and decoration, beautiful woodland walks, walled gardens and parkland, has been in the same family ownership for generations and has even become a popular filming location. There’s family fun to be had no matter your age and dogs are even welcome!
Dartmoor is an upland area in southern Devon, England. The moorland and surrounding land has been protected by National Park status since 1951. It consists of moorland capped with many exposed granite hilltops known as tors, providing habitats for Dartmoor wildlife.

Shopping and Culture
You can’t visit Devon without visiting Verity. This stainless steel and bronze statue was created by the artist Damien Hirst and stands at around 20 metres tall. There are a huge number of galleries in the area including the White Moose Gallery where you can find contemporary art, plus The Broomhill Art Hotel has one of the largest collections of sculptures in England’s south west. Devon also has some of the best shopping centres in the country, with everything from big brand names to unique boutiques.

Nightlife and Food
Plymouth and Torquay have a wealth of bars, pubs and restaurants to enjoy and there’s something for everyone! Whether you like a quiet craft beer, a lively cocktail bar or a drink with a view – you’ll find your perfect spot. Devon is also home to five Michelin starred restaurants in total so if fine dining is your thing you won’t be short of places to try. But Devon really is a paradise for all types of foodies. While you’re here you’ll have to dry some Devonshire cheese and some Devon cream tea. Plus, a pasty on the beach is a must!
