5 important questions to ask when buying a static caravan

If you’re thinking about purchasing your very own holiday home, a static caravan is a fantastic investment. There are so many reasons why buying a static caravan is a brilliant idea, however, there are a lot of things to consider before you take the plunge.

If you’re thinking about buying a static caravan, here are some of the most important questions you need to be asking.

1. How much does it cost to own a static caravan?

Static caravans vary in price depending on their size, model specification and where they are located. For example, a static caravan from Encore Parcs can start from as little as just £23,995 and increase from there depending on the above and how many bedrooms etc.

However, there are also some extra costs associated with buying a static caravan that extend beyond the fee for the actual caravan. These include annual site fees, running costs and maintenance. Site fees vary by park and pitch location, but as a rough guide our annual site fees range from £1,800 – £5,000. You can find more information about costs on our buyer’s guide.

2. Can I rent out my static caravan?

This really depends on who you buy your static caravan with but at Encore Parcs, the answer is yes. We even have our own managed letting service to make the whole process that little bit smoother. Renting out your static caravan is a great way to offset some of the running costs associated with owning your own holiday home.

3. How often can I stay in my static caravan?

You can visit as often as you like during the ownership season – weekends, weeks, or longer periods. We will give you the opening and closing dates for the park you are interested in. All our parks benefit from a 12 month holiday season, so you can use your static caravan as much as you wish.

4. How often can I stay in my static caravan?

Unfortunately no you cannot live in a static caravan in a holiday park. If this is something you’re interested in we do have specific residential park homes for those aged over 55.

5. Can I sell my static caravan?

We hope you enjoy your static caravan for many many years to come; however we appreciate that personal circumstances can change and so you may need or want to sell your static caravan at some point. If this happens simply get in touch with us and we’ll discuss your options.
